Social Commerce

Today, I and my partner present about ‘Social Commerce’. We choose this topic, because Social Commerce is becoming more and more popular these days. In my case, I usually buy the social commerce discount coupon for eating out, buying concert ticket and going to the hair salon. I can receive good services at absolutely cheap price. Also, I can easily see that my friends who usually buy the discount coupon with many purposes, too. Last summer break, I go to the Kangnam station every day, because my English academy is located in Kangnam station. And I often buy the discount coupons for eating something. I can eat a wide range of food at a low price and receive satisfaction, too. I never had been discriminated because of coupons. Social commerce site and sellers usually leave a good impression to me.
However, when I researched the social commerce, I was immensely shocked. Most surprisingly, the famous major social commerce sites, such as ‘Coupang’, ‘Ticket Monster’ and ‘We make price’ sell fake products to their customers. As I said, ‘We make price’ sold the fake cosmetics and sneakers. Also, ‘Coupang’ sold the fake winterbreak and boots. These are face of the social commerce sites in Korea, so I was very upset about this matter. To me, credibility of social commerce sites is at rock bottom.
Therefore, social commerce sites must make good a deficiency. Of course, they should choose their partner strictly. They don’t have to repeat the same mistakes to their customers. Social commerce sites should set standards for their partner stores to follow, and make sure that their partner stores follow these rules.

  1. Social commerce is really useful. I could save money but at the same time social commerce makes me overspend. I'm not a victim of fake products or poor services, but we don't know when these things happen again. Both consumer and company should pay careful attention to their deals.

  2. I also think so. Selling products is easy, but responsibility about products which they are selling is very low in Korea. When we buy some products, they smile and give good services, but afer buying something, and when we complain about the service or products, they change their manners and just say they don't have responsibility about that products, and also say if you unwrapped the products, we can't exchange. So I think that our government should build strict rules for consumers.

  3. Once they sell their product, they don't want to refund or return product on duty. that is kind of cheating, I agree that we should make new regulations.

  4. Yeah...... The difference in the seller's behavior not only exist one social commerce sites, but also on many offline markets in South Korea. However, I do see some ridiculous customers who use the product and just get refund. In some countries where refund is easier it happens more.
